Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals' Unique Technology Enables Commercial Scale Production of Ultra-Pure Inorganics
AAPL's proprietary technology portfolio includes synthesis, sublimation, distillation, and recrystallization techniques that are applied to produce high-purity inorganics and metals, in gram to metric ton quantities, to demanding purity standards in the range of
99.99% to 99.9999+% trace element basis. This unique solids-processing and solid-state synthetic technology enables production of inorganic materials in a variety of forms, including easy-to-handle, free-flowing beads with low water, hydroxide and oxide content. Consistent quality is maintained for all products using state-of-the-art analytical techniques, including Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Atomic Absorption (AA) Spectrophotometry and Karl-Fischer analysis.
In addition to supplying standard high-purity inorganic materials, metals, and binary halides, AAPL -- through Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals -- undertakes customer-driven projects on a custom basis with confidentiality assured.
"We are excited to offer commercial quantities of high-purity materials required in the fast growing markets of material composites, engineered materials, batteries and battery electrolytes, microelectronics, and optical coating precursors," said Dr. Jai Nagarkatti, President, Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals. "Given the tremendous advances in materials science research and our manufacturing expertise in this area, we can provide a complete solution for our customers," Nagarkatti added.
Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals provides raw materials process development, scale-up and complex, multi-step custom synthesis services to the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and industrial marketplace. These products are available in large-scale quantities at competitive prices for the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and high-technology chemical and life science products.
