New President and CEO for Orion Corporation as of 1 January 2008

President and CEO of Orion Corporation Jukka Viinanen will retire on 29 February 2008 as agreed between him and Orion Corporation. As of 1 January 2008 he will step aside from the position of President and CEO to act as a Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors of Orion Corporation until his retirement.

The Board of Directors of Orion Corporation has as of 1 January 2008 appointed M.Sc. (Eng.) Timo Lappalainen (b. 1962), who currently holds the position of Senior Vice President responsible for Orion's Proprietary Products and Animal Health business divisions, as the new President and CEO of the company and as the Chairman of the Executive Management Board of the Orion Group.

Mr. Lappalainen has joined Orion in 1999 as Senior Vice President, Business Development of Orion Pharma, also in charge of the business division's Finance and IT. In 2003 he was appointed Senior Vice President of the business division Orion Pharma with the responsibility of the human pharmaceuticals business. Since 2004 also the Animal Health business has belonged to his responsibilities. Since 2005 Mr. Lappalainen has been responsible for Orion's Proprietary Products and Animal Health businesses. Mr. Lappalainen has been a member of the Executive Management Board of the current Orion Group since its beginning, 1 July 2006. Before his career in Orion, Mr. Lappalainen has worked among others as a consultant with Arthur Andersen in the United States, as the Head of Business Development with Finvest Oy, and as a head of several functions with the pharmaceutical company Leiras Oy.
