"Brilliant Solutions with Leather Technology from BASF" - this is the motto of the Leather home page, which contains comprehensive information on BASF's products and services to the leather industry. Expertise, detailed product information and much more is now available across the world, day and night in English at www.basf.com/leather.

Information for tanners, leather goods manufacturers, students and other interested parties can be quickly called up with just a few clicks. A list of contacts arranged according to region and country is also provided if information on more detailed questions or direct assistance from leather experts is required.

Information on individual products from BASF's extensive range of products covering all stages of leather production can be accessed by three different routes.

* By searching the five different types of leather: Automotive, Shoe upper, Upholstery, Garment, Other/Fur

* By searching the five different stages of the manufacturing process: Beamhouse, Tanning/Retanning, Fatliquoring/Waterproofing, Drum dyeing, Finishing

* By entering the BASF product name.

Recipes for manufacturing leather can be downloaded, along with a large selection of technical literature. Particular attention is drawn to the "Pocket Book for the Leather Technologist". This has become a standard work of reference in the leather industry, and it is now available online.
