More hydrogen for Cognis, Germany, with an extended contract

10-May-2005

Cognis Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG and Air Liquide have recently renewed and enlarged their existing contract for the supply of gaseous hydrogen by pipeline. From 2006, the quantity delivered to the customer's site at Düsseldorf-Holthausen will almost be doubled. The new contract is valid for 15 years.

Cognis uses hydrogen for the hydrogenation of oleochemical derivatives, which are made of renewable raw materials like palm oil, coconut oil etc.

In the Rhine-Ruhr area, Air Liquide supplies key customers like Cognis with hydrogen through a 240 km pipeline network.
