BASF increases prices for Propargyl Alcohol, Butenediol, and Butynediol

03-Aug-2004

Effective immediately BASF is increasing its prices for Propargyl Alcohol, Butenediol, and Butynediol by 5 to 10 percent worldwide. These price increases are necessary as a result of further increased costs for energy and raw materials and therefore unsatisfactory margins.

Butenediol is used for the production of insecticides and vitamins. Butynediol is an important ingredient in flame retardants. Propargyl Alcohol is mainly used in the production of pesticides and fungicides and in the pharmaceutical industry.
