BASF increases capacity for Amino Glues and Resins

26-Nov-2003

BASF plans to increase its capacities at its Ludwigshafen Verbund site. The capacity expansion aims to meet future demand mainly for melamine-based glues and impregnating resins and underlines BASF's long-term strategic commitment to its customers. With an investment in a new production line together with ongoing process optimization, the capacity for amino glues and resins will be increased by 250,000 metric tons per year by the end of 2004. Precondition for the expansion was the increase of the formaldehyde capacity in two existing world scale plants in Ludwigshafen by 50.000 metric tons per year (calculated as 100 percent) through process optimisation.
