New acquisition for ATOFINA

27-Feb-2002

CRAY VALLEY, the resins Division of ATOFINA, acquired on 27, February 2001, the Resins division of CRODA International Plc.

The Resins division of CRODA International Plc. had turnover in 2000 around E 40 million, and operates on three production sites : Speke, (Liverpool) and Belvedere (East of London) in the United Kingdom and Beranang in Malaysia.

The acquisition further strengthens CRAY VALLEY's position in photocure resins in Europe as well as in industrial coatings for European and Asian markets.

Following the purchase of ABSHAGEN in Germany in December 1999 (coating resins), SICAP in France in December 1999 (coating resins), and BORDEN Chemical GB Ltd. in the United Kingdom in April 2000 (alkyd and unsaturated polyester resins), this acquisition is new confirmation of CRAY VALLEY's strategy of growth.
