Borealis frees up its Norwegian Innovation centre as a fully Independent research and development company
Norner Innovation is in operation as of September 1st. It has been one of four Borealis innovation centers. Borealis, owned by OMV (Austria) and IPIC (Abu Dhabi) has decided to restructure their innovation activity by phasing out of Norway and building up in Austria and Abu Dhabi as a part of its long term strategy. Norner will deliver technical support and innovation project work to Borealis short term and be a future important external cooperation partner long term. However, Norner will now start to develop an independent portfolio of projects and new business.
We have established a new company and I am pleased to get the opportunity to lead the way ahead to create our new future says Norners General Manager, Tine Rørvik. " The People are motivated and enthusiastic looking forward to utilise their competence towards the broader market than before".
Borealis will be the owner of Norner in the startup phase before the company is gradually transferred to new owners. The competence centre has around 80 employees and is expected to have a turnover of 100 million NOK.
