Degussa increases prices for methacrylic monomers and PMMA Molding Compounds
Degussa's Methacrylates Business Unit is increasing its prices for the monomers methyl methacrylate (MMA), butyl methacrylate (BMA) and methacrylic acid (GMAA) as well as for hydroxy esters. Effective July 1, 2006, as far as permissible under existing agreements, Degussa will increase prices by EUR 100/mt or US$ 130/mt respectively for all of the aforementioned products.
At the same time and under same conditions Degussa will increase its prices for all specialty monomers by EUR 150/mt or US$ 200 respectively.
From July 1st, 2006 onwards, prices for PMMA Molding Compounds will be increased by EUR 0.10/kg resp. US$ 0.13/kg.
These price adjustments were attributed to the increased costs for raw materials and logistics.
Due to increased costs for energy since the beginning of this year an additional price adjustment for the products MMA, GMAA and BMA will be conducted by separate negotiation with the customers.
