FilmTec Corporation Expansion on Target for Production in 2006

13-Jan-2006

Construction of a new manufacturing facility started in 2004 for FilmTec Corporation, a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, is on target for completion within 2006. The facility is located in Edina, Minnesota.

This new facility, with leading-edge process and manufacturing technology, provides more than double the current square footage of FilmTec's existing plant, housing additional membrane lines, new fabrication cells and will introduce further automation to FilmTec's already automated production capabilities. FilmTec Corporation will continue to produce the highest quality products that set the industry standard for performance, consistency and reliability.

FilmTec remains committed to leading the industry through this investment; driving forward the cost performance of membrane technology while enhancing value for the customer. Furthermore, this investment also provides the scale of production to enable FilmTec Corporation the ability to serve the rapidly growing demand for reverse osmosis and nanofiltration (RO/NF) membranes throughout the coming decade.

Limited production has already begun, with full production expected in mid year 2006.
