19-Dec-2005

Graham Fox, regional vice president Middle East Africa region, The Dow Chemical Company, has been named president and CEO of Equipolymers BV. Fox replaces Flavio Terruzzi, who was named to a new role in Dow. He will report in this role to Mike Gambrell, Dow executive vice president, Basic plastics and chemicals Portfolio.

Equipolymers is a 50/50 global joint venture for the manufacture and marketing of PET resins and the production of PTA (purified terephthalic acid). It was formed in 2004 by Dow and Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

Fox will relocate to Horgen, Switzerland and will be transitioning to his new role immediately. At the same time, he will maintain his role as Middle East Africa regional leader and board member of EQUATE Petrochemical Company until a replacement is named. EQUATE is a joint venture between PIC and Union Carbide, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow.

Fox joined Dow in 1973 in the UK and has worked in the UK, Netherlands and Switzerland in a variety of business and geographic leadership roles across the Dow portfolio. He moved to Dubai in 2000 to focus on the EQUATE joint venture.
