Former Exxon Chemical Vice President John Akitt Joins Board at Cyclics Corporation
John Akitt has joined the board of directors of Cyclics Corporation. Mr. Akitt began his association with Cyclics as an advisor early in the company's history and later became an investor in March, 2004.
Prior to his retirement in 1998, Mr. Akitt was Executive Vice President of Exxon Chemical Company, a division of Exxon Corporation, based in Houston Texas. He has also held leadership positions in the leading Chemical Industry Associations in Canada, Europe and the United States and he has been a consultant to the Chemical Manufacturers Association (the predecessor to the American Chemistry Council) and a Director of the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology. Mr. Akitt currently serves as a Director on a leading North American steel company and as a director at several chemical companies in the US. Mr. Akitt holds a BASc degree in chemical engineering from the University of Toronto and currently resides in Bonita Springs, Florida.
