Univar signs contract to provide chemical distribution and sourcing of all DSM European operations
Univar Europe has been named a preferred distributor/supplier in Europe for DSM. The contract builds on strongly optimising the Total Cost of Ownership and covers all European sites of DSM. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Univar will supply non-strategic and tail-end chemicals as well as raw materials to the full range of DSM's European operational groups, including Anti Infectives, Bakery Ingredients, Fine Chemicals, Food Specialties, Engineering Plastics, Elastomers, Coating Resins, Composite Resins, Pharma Chemicals, Pharmaceutical Products, Venturing & Business Development, Nutritional Products, Melamine, Agro, and Fibre Intermediates.

"Univar's extensive experience in the handling and logistics of chemical deliveries and its leverage in procurement worldwide were major factors in our decision."

The agreement places Univar in strong contention for any future procurement and distribution plans by DSM, since Univar has strong Asian and American service infrastructures, areas where DSM has marketing and manufacturing inroads.
