Analytik Jena subsidiary acquires LIMS core business of ESWE Gera

AJ Blomesystem GmbH Engelskirchen, a subsidiary of Analytik Jena AG, has acquired twelve new employees with the takeover of the software sector of ESWE Analysentechnik Gera GmbH and opened a new sales and service office in Gera. The company has integrated experienced software specialists of ESWE Gera to fulfil the growing number of orders. ESWE specialises in the integration of laboratory, information and management systems (LIMS) and on the development of applications and device control software, and has already been the sales partner of AJ Blomesystem for ten years. "The opening of the new office in Gera taps into additional staffing capacity for us. A special benefit is the existing expertise of the employees regarding our LIM system, which will enable integration without delay. Apart from the employees, we are also acquiring a broad customer base such as the Th¨ringer Landesanstalt für Umwelt or the energy utility VEAG. Thanks to these acquisitions, we are well equipped to meet the growing demand for LIMS," said the CEO of Analytik Jena, Klaus Berka.

New LIMS order confirms decisions

AJ Blomesystem has concluded a framework agreement with the Campina Group. The contract with the leading European supplier of dairy products comprises a long-term cooperation and supply agreement on the implementation of LIM systems in Campina's test laboratories. In the first project phase, LIMS will be introduced in the test laboratories of the Campina Group in the Netherlands. In so doing, the software systems in production support the quality assurance measures. The project was kicked off several days ago and the first phase will have been concluded in July 2004. The agreement between the two companies also provides for the use of LIMS of AJ Blomesystem when introducing LIM systems at the global sites of Campina.
