DuPont Brand Licensing program launches with new aerosol lubricants for consumer markets

DuPont today announced that Finish Line Technologies, the maker of multi-purpose aerosol lubricants, is the first licensee in a focused effort to increase consumer preference for science-based products sold under the DuPont brand.

"A key criteria for a DuPont brand license is that science and innovation are inherent in the licensed product and that we are bringing science to every product category where we are extending the DuPont brand," said Lynne Chappel, DuPont brand licensing manager. "Consumer products sold under the DuPont brand should represent our promise that DuPont science helps make lives better, easier and safer."

Finish Line, of Bay Shore, N.Y., is introducing three new DuPont aerosol lubricants - all based on DuPont(TM) Teflon(R) fluoropolymer technology. The products are: DuPont(TM) Multi-Use Lubricant, DuPont(TM) Silicone Lubricant, and DuPont(TM) White Lithium Grease.

The company will require licensees to adhere to a rigorous evaluation of safety, health and environmental standards for all consumer products sold under the DuPont brand. "DuPont is well-known for its safety expertise and culture. This includes manufacturing and products, as well as treatment of employees," Chappel said. "Consumers will be able to trust DuPont products for quality assurance."

"The joint development of these high-performance products between DuPont and Finish Line is a prime example of the DuPont approach in bringing science and improved technology to consumer markets," Chappel said. "For example, the new DuPont lubricants offer a range of attributes including self-cleaning technology, superior corrosion resistance and maximum water repellency and lubrication efficiency."

DuPont(TM) Multi-Use Lubricant is a dry, all-surface, all condition lubricant that is long-lasting. It penetrates and protects without leaving an oily film, and features patented "self-cleaning" technology. This allows parts to stay clean, work better and last longer.

DuPont(TM) Pure Silicone Lubricant is specially formulated to ensure optimum lubricity on both metal and non-metal surfaces including rubber, plastic and wood. Its clean, non-corrosive film is ideal for materials that may be damaged by conventional petroleum lubricants.

DuPont(TM) White Lithium Grease has been formulated for demanding lubrication challenges. It sprays on wet, then sets up as a water and corrosion resistant grease. The product is enhanced with DuPont(TM) Teflon(R) fluoropolymer for maximum water repellency and lubrication efficiency. It will not run, melt, wash off, freeze or breakdown under high speeds, extreme heat, or heavy loads.
