16-Dec-2014 - Germany

Instron, Corp., Norwood, MA/USA, has combined its previously independent German subsidiaries, Instron Deutschland GmbH and Instron Structural Testing Systems GmbH (IST), into one organization, operating as Instron GmbH. There are currently around 130 employees at the company's Darmstadt headquarters, working in the areas of research and development, production and assembly, sales, and service.

The portfolio of products offered under the umbrella of Instron GmbH includes a complete range of systems for testing fibers, materials, components and structures, including complete vehicles, with a vast offering ranging from instruments for rheological testing of plastics through electromechanical and servohydraulic materials testing systems for the determination of material properties under static and dynamic loads, up to servohydraulic systems for accelerated, close-to-real simulation of virtually any load acting on a vehicle including crash simulation.

David Hargreaves, General Manager of Instron GmbH, comments: "Uniting all members of our sales and service teams under one roof will provide them with access to our consolidated know-how and to all our products and services for applications from research and development to quality control. Our customers, which include research institutes, material manufacturers, components suppliers and OEMs, can now rely on a single contact, enabling us to address their specific requirements quickly and effectively."
