ChemCodes Announces Drug Discovery Agreement With Roche
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
ChemCodes will engage its medicinal chemistry platform that includes high throughput chemical reactivity mapping, experimental design, experimental tracking, chemo-informatics and data analysis tools.
"We are excited to work with Roche to add value to its drug discovery efforts," said John Didsbury, Ph.D., President and CEO of ChemCodes. "At ChemCodes, we believe that the discovery and application of new chemistries for hit scaffolds will generate novel lead compounds for our partners. Pharmaceutical industry pressures for speed in discovery of new chemical entities, with limited medicinal chemistry resources, have limited the exploration of new synthetic routes needed to achieve desired compound diversity. ChemCodes systematically and comprehensively scans viable chemistries, running thousands of different reaction conditions off of a starting chemical scaffold in a controlled, standardized & parallel approach. All reaction synthesis data is captured in large databases and utilized to enable subsequent chemistries to be carried out more efficiently. This eliminates time consuming rehearsals, gives a greater scope of diversity in lead compounds and allows one to rapidly explore new, and oftentimes more challenging chemistries that may not be typically explored."
"We are pleased to work with ChemCodes and apply their promising and innovative reaction mapping technology to complement our own work on this key project," said Nader Fotouhi, Ph.D., Vice President of Discovery Chemistry of Roche. "We feel that ChemCodes has a strong team and look forward to working with them to advance this important drug discovery program as quickly as possible."
