Praxair Signs New Contract with Deacero in Mexico

Praxair Mexico, a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. has signed a new contract with Deacero, a leading Mexican steel company, to supply oxygen, argon and nitrogen to a new plant being built in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, a major industrial region in north Mexico. Praxair will build, own and operate a new state-of-the-art and energy efficient cryogenic air separation unit with a capacity of 500 tons per day which is expected to start up in the first semester of 2014. The steel plant will produce 1.5 million tons of steel per year.

With this new plant Praxair is expanding its capacity in this important industrial region of Mexico with a reliable, cost competitive and world class industrial gas supply and logistics network to serve current customers as well as future growing demand.
