PolyOne Names Joel Rathbun Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions
PolyOne Corporation announced it has hired Joel Rathbun as vice president, mergers and acquisitions, reporting to Robert M. Patterson, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Prior to joining PolyOne, Rathbun served as senior vice president, mergers and acquisitions at Moelis & Company in New York City. He previously spent ten years with CIBC World Markets in positions of increasing responsibility most recently as executive director. In total, Rathbun has over thirteen years of investment banking experience, and he has been involved in numerous mergers, acquisitions and divestitures across a wide range of industrial sectors both domestically and internationally.
“I am pleased Joel has joined our team,” said Patterson. “In this newly created role, Joel will be responsible for developing and leading our global acquisition activities. With over $400 million in cash, we are looking to accelerate our progress in acquiring assets that bring PolyOne new technology, or expand our presence in attractive end markets such as healthcare or emerging markets such as Brazil, Asia and the Middle East.”
Rathbun earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. He is relocating to Cleveland, Ohio with his family.
