Fonterr has ordered a new milk powder plant in New Zealand, worth more than EUR 40 million. GEA Process Engineering will be the lead segment for this order. 90 percent of New Zealand’s milk is processed by this long term customer who is also a major player in the international dairy trade. The plant will be operational in August 2012.

“The demand for dairy processing equipment, one of our core competencies, has been quite dynamic recently. Already in December 2010 we saw dairy orders worth more than EUR 50 million from large customers such as French Danone, Japanese Yotsuba and Chinese Mengniu,“ observed Jürg Oleas, CEO of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft.
