LEONI Fiber Optics acquires fiber optic specialist in North America
The LEONI Group strengthens its market position in North America. LEONI Fiber Optics acquired in early July 2010, through its U.S. subsidiary FiberTech USA Inc., the technology company RoMack Inc. in Williamsburg, Virginia.
RoMack specializes in fiber optic systems solutions in the aerospace, optical analysis, devices for medicine and for industrial laser solution. With the acquisition of RoMack, LEONI set its strategy for strength in technologically sophisticated niche markets.
Both companies compliment each other well with their portfolio. The full spectrum of optical technologies by FiberTech RoMack Inc. will be offered to the target markets in North and South America. Fiber Tech USA Inc. is a specialist in medical laser applications and RoMack Inc. is a specialist in fiber optics for research and industrial applications. Existing and new customers will profit from the significant synergies of both companies, and by leveraging the resources of LEONI Fiber Optics. The Optics Valley based FiberTech merged with RoMack to create FiberTech RoMack. The registered office of the new entity will be in Chandler AZ at its current location. The Virginia based RoMack remains intact, its Williamsburg location will be the operational base of the new entity with the significant manufacturing, research, quality control and customer support capability. Mr. Matthew Webb, founder and President of RoMack and Dr. Armin Kaus, President and CEO of FiberTech USA, will act jointly as President and CEO of the new entity.
