Scott Specialty Gases Publishes Technical Newsline for Users of Specialty Gases

07-Feb-2001

Scott specialty gases released today the premier issue of Scott Tech Newsline, a newsletter that is specifically published for laboratory, medical and industrial users of specialty gases. Scott Tech Newsline covers technical, scientific and legislative issues currently faced by a wide range of specialty gas users and also highlights recent developmental efforts that facilitate break-through technology.

Volume 1, Issue 1 of Scott Tech Newsline discusses features and benefits of using ultra high-purity Hydrogen Bromide (HBr) to achieve etching of more powerful semiconductors. Also highlighted in this first issue is Scott's development of nitric oxide standards that have helped in development of a break-through medical treatment for Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension (PPHN). PPHN is a life-threatening condition that each year affects thousands of premature and full-term infants at birth.

Future issues of Scott Tech Newsline will focus on Scott's pioneer efforts in the development of a new, Sigma 2000 HBr that will lead the semiconductor industry toward 0.13 micron technology. Low NOx protocols that can help utilities comply with existing and pending legislation will also be explored.

A free subscription to Scott Tech Newsline is available by contacting Bob Jefferys, Corporate Communications Manager, Scott Specialty Gases, at 215-766-8861 or bjeffery@scottgas.com. Scott Tech Newsline is also posted on Scott's web site at scottgas.com.
