The contrAA 800 series from Analytik Jena combines the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of conventional atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) with the flexibility and performance of High-Resolution Continuum Source AAS (HR-CS-AAS). At the core of the system is a xenon short-arc lamp that serves as a universal light source for the analysis of a wide range of elements and selected molecules. Combined with fast sequential multi-element analysis, the contrAA 800 series significantly reduces measurement times and increases sample throughput in flame mode.

Graphite furnace technology enables highly sensitive trace analysis and the determination of challenging analytes such as fluorine, which are often difficult or impossible to quantify using conventional AAS methods.

High-resolution absorption spectra, together with advanced background and interference correction algorithms, ensure reliable differentiation between analyte signals and matrix effects. Potential interferences can be detected and compensated effectively, providing dependable results even when analyzing complex sample matrices.

In addition to the determination of metals and metalloids, the contrAA 800 series enables rapid multi-element screening of unknown samples and the analysis of selected non-metals.
