contrAA 800 Series: Expanding the Possibilities of Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

The contrAA 800 series from Analytik Jena combines the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of conventional atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) with the flexibility and performance of High-Resolution Continuum Source AAS (HR-CS-AAS). The result is faster analyses, simplified workflows, and a broader range of applications.

Efficient Multi-Element Analysis

At the core of the system is a xenon short-arc lamp that serves as a universal light source for the analysis of a wide range of elements and selected molecules. Combined with fast sequential multi-element analysis, the contrAA 800 series significantly reduces measurement times and increases sample throughput in flame mode.

Graphite furnace technology enables highly sensitive trace analysis and the determination of challenging analytes such as fluorine, which are often difficult or impossible to quantify using conventional AAS methods.

Reliable Results and High Confidence

High-resolution absorption spectra, together with advanced background and interference correction algorithms, ensure reliable differentiation between analyte signals and matrix effects. Potential interferences can be detected and compensated effectively, providing dependable results even when analyzing complex sample matrices.

Expanded Application Range

In addition to the determination of metals and metalloids, the contrAA 800 series enables rapid multi-element screening of unknown samples and the analysis of selected non-metals. This expands the capabilities of atomic spectroscopy and allows applications that have traditionally required more complex and expensive analytical technologies.

Flexible Configuration for Individual Needs

The system can be configured with flame, graphite furnace, and hydride techniques, either individually or in combination. The Dual Atomizer concept allows automated switching between atomization techniques, maximizing flexibility and efficiency.

For direct solid analysis, the system can be equipped with the SSA series solid sampler, eliminating the need for time-consuming sample digestion. Comprehensive automation options and a broad range of accessories further support efficient laboratory operation.

With low operating costs, a compact footprint, and more than 30 years of Analytik Jena experience in HR-CS-AAS, the contrAA 800 series is a powerful and economical platform for modern elemental analysis.
