Analytik Jena AG subsidiary receives major order

28 million euros to equip neurosurgical center in Moscow

AJZ Engineering GmbH, a joint venture of Analytik Jena AG and Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH, has received an order for the planning, modernization and reequipping of the clinical center for neurosurgery of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences in Moscow. AJZ Engineering is to equip the center for radiotherapy and surgery with the latest navigation systems, e.g. for the treatment of tumors, making it possible for the region's population to benefit from maximal medical care at international standards. The order volume amounts to more than 28 million euros and will be implemented between 2002 and 2004. Analytik Jena's Project Solutions business unit anticipates additional sales revenue of approx. 7 million euros from the project this fiscal year. AJZ Engineering GmbH, managing company of the Project Solutions business unit, which is to supervise the venture as the general contractor, will cooperate with Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH and other companies from the German state of Thuringia in carrying out the project.

With this additional new order, Analytik Jena will be able to continue to make inroads into the high-growth health market, which promises to expand further in the years to come.
