Dow Declares Force Majeure for Ethyleneamines
Dow announced to its customers on May 27, 2008 that force majeure is being declared for several ethyleneamine products due to unexpected contingencies beyond Dow's control at St. Charles Operations (SCO) located in Taft, Louisiana, which is owned by Union Carbide Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow.
Effective immediately and likely through early July 2008, Dow will allocate available product in a manner that is fair and reasonable, where applicable, in accordance with contract terms.
