22-May-2008

Alfa Aesar, a Johnson Matthey Company, has opened a 35,000 square foot facility in Ward Hill, Massachusetts. The new facility will serve as a warehouse and distribution center for storage and dispatch of non-hazardous materials.

The new facility provides a significant increase in capacity to hold inventory of fine chemicals in support of Alfa Aesar's growing catalog business. Alfa Aesar's other two warehouses now house hazardous materials and bulk and semi-bulk materials, respectively.

Each facility is equipped for the handling and rapid dispatch of Alfa Aesar products. In addition, each building is divided into numerous storage areas, each of which is outfitted with state of the art monitoring, suppression and containment systems specific to the materials stored.
