Rohm and Haas celebrates ground breaking of manufacturing facility in Turkey
Rohm and Haas celebrated the ground breaking event of a plastics additives acrylic impact modifier and processing AIDS manufacturing facility in Gebze, Turkey. This manufacturing facility will have the potential capacity of 40,000 MT, to respond to the growing demand for acrylic impact modifiers and processing aids from the plastics industry in both local and neighboring markets. The production process will follow Rohm and Haas's high-quality manufacturing standards. The targeted production date will be second quarter of 2008. The plastics additives that will be produced in this new facility are used in many industries like building and construction, packaging and many other industries to enhance the quality of end products.
Rohm and Haas selected Gebze as the ideal location for the plant because of its transportation connections. This allows excellent logistics for both the arrival of raw materials and the shipment of their products. Moreover, Gebze is already a chemical industrial estate and thus very well adapted to the needs of Rohm and Haas. The company will be benefit from the available facilities, as well as from an experienced local labor force that is already familiar with the chemical industry.
The plant in Gebze will serve the Turkish market, but will also be used as an export platform to both the Central and Eastern European countries and to the Middle East.
