Anton Paar GmbH acquires Measuring Technology Company in Hanover
Effective from July 1, 2007, the German measuring technology company Dr. Wolfgang Kernchen GmbH has been acquired by the Graz-based measuring technology producer Anton Paar.
This company, founded in 1970, develops and produces measuring instruments for refractometry and polarimetry. Its prime market is the global sugar industry. The company acquisition is a strategic step to strengthen Anton Paar's product portfolio, in view of the competitive situation in the US.
The Dr. Wolfgang Kernchen GmbH has been acquired by the Anton Paar OptoTec GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of the Anton Paar GmbH. As of now the measuring instruments developed and produced by the company located in Seelze are distributed through the Anton Paar Group's global sales network. Anton Paar OptoTec GmbH's General Managers are Dr. Frank Gottsleben and Ms. Maria Santner.
Dr. Wolfgang Kernchen, the founder and former sole shareholder of the Dr. Wolfgang Kernchen GmbH, has retired and searched for a long-term solution to secure the location and the local workplaces. He has found the ideal partner for this task in the Anton Paar GmbH. The Dr. Wolfgang Kernchen GmbH has for years been the exclusive deliverer of refractometers to the Anton Paar GmbH.
