PerkinElmer and Seiko Instruments Sign Exclusive Global Distribution Agreement

PerkinElmer, Inc. (NYSE:PKI) today announced that it has entered into an agreement to become the exclusive distributor for Seiko Instruments Inc.'s (SII's) thermal analysis product line. The partnership includes distribution and service in all geographic markets except Japan, where SII is based.

"Seiko Instruments' line of high-performance thermal analysis tools complements our industry leading power-compensation differential scanning calorimeters and thermogravimetric analyzers. The agreement grants PerkinElmer the exclusive rights, outside Japan, to sell and support SII's line of thermal analysis products, which are used in research and quality control environments to determine material stability and resistance. Used primarily in the polymer and fast-growing pharmaceutical markets, these tools also have application in the food and electronics industries.
