Dow Chemical Names Horacio Percossi Business Vice President for Specialty Chemicals
Janet Giesselman named Business Vice President for Dow Latex
In his more than 33 years with Dow, Percossi has served in different businesses and geographies covering a variety of positions including sales, marketing, commercial, and manufacturing. He joined Dow in Argentina in 1973, and served the Dow AgroSciences business in Latin America and Europe for 16 years. He then became managing director for DowBrands in Europe, before he headed Dow's operations in the Iberian region. Subsequently, he held business management roles for Building Materials, Chemicals & Performance Chemicals and, most recently, Dow Latex. Percossi holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires.
The Dow Chemical Company also announced that Janet Giesselman, vice president of Corporate Affairs for Dow AgroSciences (DAS), has been named business vice president of the Dow Latex business. She will report to Romeo Kreinberg, executive vice president of Dow's Performance Plastics and Chemicals portfolio, and will transition to her new role in the fourth quarter of 2006. Giesselman replaces Horacio Percossi.
Named to her most recent role in 2002, Giesselman previously led Corporate Strategy, Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs and EH&S Product Stewardship at Dow. She joined Dow AgroSciences in 2001 as global leader of the Disease Management global business unit - one of Dow AgroSciences' leading business units after the acquisition from Rohm and Haas. Prior to joining Dow AgroSciences, Giesselman held a series of leadership roles in general management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain for Rohm & Haas. Giesselman also serves as vice-chair of the CropLife International Crop Protection Strategy Council, was a member of the CropLife America (CLA) Strategic Oversight Committee, and led the development of the CLA strategy and business plan. In addition, she serves on the board of the Indiana University Research & Technology Corporation and the Advisory Board of the Indiana University School of Medicine. Giesselman received a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Florida.
