The Linde Group to build LNG plant for Wesfarmers Limited in Western Australia
"This is another important step in taking part in the growth market of small scale LNG plants", says Dr Aldo Belloni, member of the Executive Board of Linde AG and responsible for the Engineering Division. "Regions not connected to the gas distribution system will be supplied to a greater extent with natural gas as a resource of clean energy delivered by small LNG plants. Especially in countries with remote areas we see great potential for subsequent projects."
The facility will be installed downstream of Wesfarmers's existing LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) plants and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2008. Using state-of-the-art mixed refrigerant cycle technology excelling by low specific energy consumption, the new plant will have a load-out capacity of approximately 60,000 tonnes of LNG product per year. The LNG is transported via trucks to the various consumers all over Western Australia.
