Reichhold Announces Price Increase for Emulsion Products

Reichhold, Inc., a specialty chemical company based in Research Triangle Park, NC, announced today a 10 to 15 percent price increase on vinyl acetate containing emulsions and powders effective January 8, 2001. This increase covers customers serviced by Reichhold North America operations.

The price increase covers but is not limited to:

Sythemulâ Acrylic emulsions Arolon Solution Acrylics and Styrene Acrylic emulsions Paceâ and Plyamulâ polyvinyl acetate homopolymers and copolymers, Elvace â- vinyl acetate-ethylene emulsions and Wallpolâ - vinyl acrylic emulsions.

This increase is the result of the unprecedented rise in raw material costs, especially, Vinyl Acetate Monomer, Ethylene, Butyl Acrylate and Methyl Methacrylate. Due to the drastic and sudden increase in associated costs, preorders will not be accepted.

These emulsion products are used in the Coatings, Sealant, Textile, Nonwovens, Paper, Carpet, Adhesives, Construction products and associated businesses.
