Agilent Technologies completes acquisition of Scientific Software Inc.

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the completion of its acquisition of Scientific software Inc., a leading provider of scientific information management solutions. Agilent and Scientific Software had announced an acquisition agreement on May 25, 2005. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

The acquisition brings together Agilent's world-class analytical instrumentation, data systems and services with SSI's strong position in chromatographic data systems and informatics. It is expected that the combined product portfolios will enable customers to unify their lab needs with one software application, handling diverse data, applications and instruments from multiple vendors in a single, seamless and secure environment.

Most of SSI's 80 employees have joined Agilent as part of the company's Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis business.
