Updated Vinyl Acetate Handling Guide
The vinyl acetate Council (VAC) has released an update of its "Vinyl Acetate Safe Handling Guide." The Guide is now available in six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian) and Spanish (Latin American). VAC last released the Guide in October 2002. After significant demand for the Guide in other languages, VAC created an abridged English Guide that was translated into multiple languages. The abridged English Guide and the five translations focus on safe handling issues and do not address regulatory information specific to any one geographical region.
The Guide promotes the safe and responsible use of vinyl acetate (VA) and contains information on VA characteristics, training and job safety, safe handling, managing emergencies and bulk transport.
Members of the Vinyl Acetate Council are: AT Plastics, Inc.; Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.; Celanese Limited; The Dow Chemical Company; E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company; ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc.; and, Millennium Chemicals, A Lyondell Company.
