Analytik Jena receives major order for equipment supply to China

16-Mar-2005

Analytik Jena AG has received another major order from China for its instrument business. This relates to providing equipment for laboratories of the Chinese Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The multi-million euro order involves the delivery of 33 instrument systems for atom spectrometry. The measuring systems are to be used by the Chinese EPA for analysis of heavy metals in environmental samples. The contract is for the "ZEEnit 700" atom absorption spectrometer, which was launched only last year. This is a powerful compact spectrometer for determining extremely low element concentrations in liquid and solid samples.

Previously at the end of 2003, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture placed an order with Analytik Jena for equipping around 25 installations with state-of-the-art analysis systems in the context of the Feed Safety Engineering project.

The company has been operating successfully in China for four years. With its own presence as well as a subsidiary established last October in Shanghai, Analytik Jena has backup for all its business activities in China and Hong Kong from Beijing and Shanghai. China is currently posting the highest growth rates for analysis instruments, and is one of the world's largest markets in this sector alongside the USA, Japan and Germany.
