HOYER Group enhances and accelerates it's digital strategy Partnership between HOYER and ELEMICA

30-Aug-2004

HOYER GROUP and ELEMICA have agreed a partnership to enable electronic data exchange between HOYER and the ELEMICA network with the objective to maximize efficiencies in transport- and customer order fulfillment at the 22 leaders of the global chemical industry.

HOYER will pilot the ELEMICA connection with Shell Chemicals Europe, and explore and implement the significant mutual benefits offered by business process integration and digitization. HOYER electronically connects to the ELEMICA Network via a single connection with HOYER-NET, using established CIDX industry standards. This single "connect once - connect to all" connection lets HOYER and the 22 leaders of the global chemical industry share and exchange information, in real time.

HOYER-NET is the digital foundation of HOYER's global Logistics Network, and electronically connects HOYER to its customers and business partners in road, rail, barge and deep-sea logistics services. HOYER-NET enables full visibility, transparency, tracking and tracing, and supply chain event management in the HOYER Logistics Network.

A related step in HOYER's strategy of delivering innovative solutions in bulk logistics, is the recent membership agreement between CIDX and HOYER. CIDX leads the effort to standardize data and business processes in order to reduce connectivity barriers and improve data accuracy between chemical companies and their trading partners.

According to Fred van der Spil, Director of HOYER Information Services, the partnership with ELEMICA is considered a major step in enabling cost reductions and service performance improvements in transport order entry and - execution processes, and ultimately our chemical customers' order fulfilment processes. It will enhance and accelerate HOYER's strategy of digitizing cross-company business processes with our customers and business partners in the chemical industry.
