Chlorine Production Continues Strong for First Half

Caustic Demand Even Stronger

First half-year Western European chlorine production has risen for the third year running standing at 4,888,912 tonnes and is 3% above the same period last year (4,746,824 tonnes). Compared with the first quarter production this year (2,422,552 tonnes) the second quarter (2,466,360 tonnes) has seen a 1.8% increase. Figures for June (825,809 tonnes) show a 5% rise compared with the same month last year (786,817 tonnes).

Caustic soda stocks continue to be under pressure, having fallen every month this year.
