Croda's new lipid plant on stream Q2 2004
Following strong market demand for high purity, high potency omega-3 and 6 lipids in pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, Croda Health Care has significantly expanded lipid production at the company's Leek site in Staffs, UK. The new plant, built to the latest pharmaceutical standards (ICHQ7a, GMP API) and employing advanced production technologies, comes on stream Q2 2004. "This development will more than double manufacturing capacity" said Dr Keith Layden, Managing Director - Health and Personal Care, "It forms the first phase of our expansion programme and further investment is planned to support continuing market demand for our high purity lipids."
