Kemira acquires Belinka´s water treatment business in Slovenia

Kemira has strengthened its position within water treatment in Slovenia and surrounding countries by signing an agreement for acquiring the water treatment business of Belinka KTM, a group company of Belinka Holding. The turnover of the acquired business is today about EUR 5 million.

Belinka is located in Ljubljana in Slovenia and is today the only producer of both solid and liquid Aluminium sulphate in the area. In addition the company is also producing a dried Al hydroxide used for flame retardants and fillers in plastic products.

The new Kemira company will be in a position to supply the customers a full range of water treatment chemicals and thus be able to satisfy the increasing demand for water treatment chemicals in Slovenia and the surrounding countries.

This acquisition is in accordance with the strategy of Kemira to be locally present and increase its activity within the growing market for water treatment solutions in Central Europe in the new member states of the EU. The aim is to further develop new products and application concepts within the water treatment area in the Balkan region.
