BASF reduces capacity of maleic anhydride in Feluy

24-Mar-2004

BASF has reduced the capacity of maleic anhydride (MAN) at its production site in Feluy, Belgium, to 115,000 metric tons per year from 135,000 metric tons per year. The company shut down some small reactors at the end of December 2003 in order to improve efficiency and utilization. Customers will not be affected.

"By reducing the capacity of maleic anhydride we will be able to improve efficiencies in our operations," said Dr. Peter Hettinger, Group Vice President, Regional Business Unit Europe - Diols and Polyalcohols.
