Eastman's BoPhoz Chiral Ligands Available from Alfa Aesar

13-Feb-2004

Eastman Chemical Company's proprietary Bophoz chiral ligands are now available in research quantities from Alfa Aesar, a Johnson Matthey Company. As an extension to the Bophoz marketing partnership between Eastman and Johnson Matthey catalysts announced in October 2003, Alfa Aesar now offers Bophoz ligands from stock in standard 0.1g and 0.5g units for trial use.

Bophoz ligands are ideal for many asymmetric reduction applications. The unique phosphine-aminophosphine substructure of the Bophoz ligands imparts attributes not commonly found in other chiral catalysts, including shelf stability, scalability, and high activity and enantioselectivity. Because Bophoz ligands are sold inclusive of license, they are a cost effective option for asymmetric hydrogenation applications.

"The Bophoz ligands offer Alfa Aesar customers a new option for cost effective asymmetric hydrogenation," said John Shirley, global marketing manager for Alfa Aesar. "We have added both enantiomers of the methyl Bophoz ligand to our catalog product range so they can now be shipped from stock the same day the order is placed. We are pleased to offer Bophoz ligands as part of Johnson Matthey's expanding range of chiral ligands "
