Celanese Completes Divestiture of Acrylates Business
Celanese AG announced that it completed the divestiture of its acrylates business to The Dow Chemical Company. The divestiture, having received all necessary regulatory approvals, became effective February 1.
Following this divestiture and other recent transactions, Celanese has realigned its reporting segments. A new segment, Chemical Products, has been introduced and consists primarily of the former Acetyl Products and Chemical Intermediates segments. These changes will be reflected in the financial results reported in Celanese AG's fourth quarter press release on February 26, 2004 and in its 2003 Financial Report and Annual Report on Form 20-F.
