Lenzing AG: Capacity Expansion successfully completed
After intensive construction activities at the Lenzing site in 2003, the numerous individual projects in the course of the capacity expansion program have now been completed.
This largest single investment made to date (about EUR 90 mill.) has eliminated production bottlenecks, expanding the fiber capacity by about 20,000 tons to approximately 200,000 tons per year. In order to maintain full integration, the pulp capacity was also increased by about 35,000 tons to approximately 210,000 tons. The processing of wood, our raw material, to pulp and subsequently to Viscose and Modal fibers in an integrated process will therefore continue to be the basis for the company's cost and quality leadership.
