26-Aug-2003

Sigma-Aldrich was named for the second straight year as "Best-in-Class" supplier for printed catalogs and web site by over 1,900 international life scientists through a bioinformatics, LLC survey.

Sigma-Aldrich was also named as a "regional favorite" in Europe, Japan and in emerging markets for its printed catalogs and web site. In 2002, Sigma-Aldrich ranked number 1 in catalogs, web site, customer and technical service and received high rankings for its print advertisements and sales force.

"These positive ratings are again a reflection of our ongoing efforts to continuously improve the quality of service to our customers in Life Science and High Technology," said David R. Harvey, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sigma-Aldrich Corporation.

Sigma-Aldrich has over 3.5 million catalogs in the marketplace and its award-winning web site, sigma-aldrich.com, contains over one million technical documents and superior functionality for product searching and online ordering. In early 2004, Sigma-Aldrich expects to release the latest version of the Sigma General Catalog containing thousands of biochemicals and reagents for life science research. One of the Company's latest online innovations is searchable databases called "Explorers" where customers can find thousands of antibodies, antibiotics, buffers, enzymes, and peptide product lines.
