Plastic Additives in China - Trends in the Antioxidant Market

12-Aug-2003

Plastic consumption and production in China is growing at over 10% per year. This growth is leading to a significant increase in opportunities for plastic additives in China, which is the focus of a new study under way at BRG Townsend, Inc. (BRG). "Plastic Additives in China 2003" will provide an in-depth analysis of the consumption, production, trends, key industry suppliers and forecasts for this high growth market through 2007. The study is scheduled for completion in the 4th quarter of 2003.

The 15,400-ton plastics antioxidant market is growing at the remarkably faster rate of 15% per year. This rapid growth is a result of the continued upsurge in the construction, automotive and appliance markets driving plastics growth. Production in China now accounts for 70% of demand but higher value specialty materials dominate imports.

BRG researchers in China have interviewed all the major producers to develop data on antioxidant consumption by resin, by supplier, by region and by type. Trends in this evolving market such as E-commerce, product mix, supplier strategies and import/export balances are also detailed.

Additive families within the scope of the study are antioxidants, flame retardants, heat stabilizers, impact modifiers/PVC processing aids, light stabilizers, lubricants, organic peroxides, and plasticizers. A list of the plastic additives included in the report can be found in the prospectus.

To assist subscribers in identifying partnership opportunities, "Plastic Additives in China 2003" will also provide profiles of the major additive suppliers in China and a directory of the smaller suppliers.
