Drew Marine introduces improved Diesel Performance Analyzer Sensor
Drew Marine, a business unit of Ashland Specialty Chemical Company, announced today the introduction of an improved fuel option sensor as an upgrade to its Diesel Performance Analyzer (DPA) product.
The new fuel option sensor eliminates the previously required high-pressure valve, thereby eliminating the possibility of valve leakage. A fuel option sensor is permanently mounted to each fuel pump, and requires only the plug-in cable to be moved from cylinder to cylinder. This reduces time moving between cylinders since fuel does not have to be cleaned during use.
Drew Marine's new fuel option sensor avoids human errors associated with manual analysis and is available at lower cost than the earlier version. Prototypes of the sensor have been hydrostatically tested to 2,758 bar (40,000 psi) and witnessed by ABS, DNV and LR, as well as shipboard tested for operational performance.
