Sun Chemical Offers New Line of Effect Pigments for Cosmetics

02-May-2003

Sun Chemical has announced the introduction of SunSHINE(TM) titanium and iron oxide coated mica pearls designed for use in all types of cosmetic products. The SunSHINE(TM) line provides performance properties superior to those of conventional coated micas in the areas of luster, chroma, clarity and color purity. The key difference between this range of products and the conventional types of oxide coated micas is the use of synthetic fluorphologopite, which provides improved performance in the areas of viscosity control, slip, payoff and compaction.

The SunSHINE(TM) line is offered in a wide range of particle sizes and is available in a variety of whites, iridescents and metallics. The fluorphologopite is listed in the CTFA dictionary under CAS # 12003-38-2. It is similarly listed on EINECS under the number 234-426-5. The INCI nomenclature is Synthetic Fluorphologopite and Titamium Dioxide and Iron Oxide.
