New textile coatings from BASF: ready to use and eco-friendly
Water-based Lurapret® textile coatings marketed worldwide
Awnings, sunshades, umbrellas and mattresses are exposed to severe conditions, especially moisture, wind, UV radiation, heat and cold. The new concept of water-based textile coatings can be applied with comparatively little technical effort. "Lurapret® C products are ready to use," says Dr Joachim Burger, Global Business Manager for Textile Coatings at BASF. "Before putting them on the market we tested them intensively in various production processes and achieved excellent results. The simple application of Lurapret® C products helps customers make their entire production process solvent-free."
The world market for textile coating products is a volume of several hundred million euros. "However, most of the textile coatings used still contain organic solvents," says Burger. "Our Lurapret® is cost-effective, solvent-free and eco-friendly. We provide customers with on-the-spot advice and support throughout the world. This is another reason why we will expand our business with these products." The new BASF product range includes the ready-to-use Lurapret® C compounds and custom-made acrylate and polyurethane dispersions of the Lurapret® D range.
