WEDECO AG ACQUIRES THIRD LARGEST OZONE TECHNOLOGY COMPANY IN THE WORLD
WEDECO AG announced that it has acquired Trailigaz Ozone - the third largest ozone water treatment technology company in the world - from Paris-based Vivendi Water Systems Group. Trailigaz Ozone generates annual sales of approximately EUR 12 million. In addition Trailigaz Ozone is profitable with a positive cash flow. It has an installed base of more than 5,000 ozone water treatment systems worldwide, including systems in Paris, London, Madrid, Prague, Moscow, Tokyo, Sydney, San Francisco and Singapore. Its production facilities are located in Paris, and it has a service business in the U.S. Trailigaz Ozone - to continue to be headquartered in Paris - will become part of WEDECO Gesellschaft für Umwelttechnologie mbH, the subsidiary which operates the ozone business of the WEDECO Group.
For its part, Vivendi Water Systems obtains a 15.2 per cent interest in the WEDECO ozone subsidiary. Vivendi Water is one of the largest providers of water services on the planet. Co-operation with Vivendi Water will strengthen WEDECO's position as the leader in chemical-free water purification. Ozone systems account for less than 8 per cent of the water purification market, which is dominated by chlorine. But Ozone technology has considerable potential for growth due to significant benefits of ozone water treatment systems: no carcinogenic by-products, ease of use, and greater effectiveness against water-borne microorganisms."
