Merck Names Heidi Fagerholm as New Head of Advanced Technologies
Heidi Fagerholm joins Merck from global chemical company Kemira
Merck announced that Heidi Fagerholm, currently Chief Technology Officer and member of the Management Board of Kemira, a global chemical company serving customers in water-intensive industries, will join the company as Head of the Advanced Technologies business unit within the performance materials business sector. She will start at Merck on November 15, 2017 and will be based in Darmstadt, Germany.
Heidi Fagerholm has served in various leadership and executive management roles including her most recent position as Chief Technology Officer. In this capacity, she led Kemira’s global R&D and Technology function, including more than 250 scientists and professionals based at three global R&D centers in Espoo, Finland, Atlanta, Georgia (USA), and Shanghai, China. She has a Masters and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Abo Akademi University in Finland.
